Everytime I see brussels sprouts in the supermarket, I can’t help myself saying “Oh my god, they look sooooo cute”. Remember when I was back home in Vietnam 3-4 years ago, I saw many contestants on Masterchef US using these in their dishes and I called them “mini cabbages”, because look at that miniature size, awww (and I always say that with everything in that size ^^), how naive I was back then !
Story time... So these yummylicious Grilled Pork Skewers came to my mind one winter day, I came visit my boyfriend in Grenoble and since he couldn’t stay at home with me all day (I had some days off and he didn’t ^^), I got left at home and had so much time to kill and voila, here comes my idea (at least they’re still better than laying on the couch all day Read More
Hello cooking fellows,
I’m a contradictory girl, and everyday I wake up and try to understand myself but never make it. You may think that why am I suddenly starting my blog post with this non-related thing? Well, I’m now in vacation, actually a before-finals vacation, so my daily basis is all about sleeping, cooking, eating and revising Read More
Back in the time I was still a little girl, I don’t know why but I hated eating broccoli so much and only ate cauliflower, maybe because the meals with broccoli in my kindergarden and primary school were too disgusting so I kinda had a phobia (same story with pumpkin though haha). As I grew up, started cooking and being forced to eat broccoli, things got much better. And now, I’m proud to say that my phobia has gone hurrayyyyy (well, or it’s transferred to cauliflower, there was one time my housemates and me cooked way too much stir-fried cauliflower and beef, we had to eat that dish over and over for 2 or 3 days, and now even mentioning the name of it makes me sick Dx it’s been 6 months since that time btw and we still don’t wanna get cauliflower, how weird o.O ). Anw, I still feel great for being able to eat broccoli, because I did discover that huge treasure of yummy dishes with it 😉
And today, one of them will be revealed !! (drums and rolls) The famous Beef and Broccoli !! Who’s getting excited ? There’s definitely me, after all, I’m still Asian and I’m definitely madly in love with Asian cuisine. Seriously, you can resist that smell and that sweet, flavorful of this dish, really? Because I can’t and I’m still struggling to keep me away from it before I gain weight and become an obese and lazy lady 😀
Okay, that’s my story, anw please enjoy my little tutorial, I hope it will be helpful for you and have a nice day then,
Well, I have to admit that I have a strong, deep love for pasta and anything related to it. I loveee trying new pasta recipes and can’t stop myself eating, even though sometimes I know exactly how fat and cheesy my pasta is (haha, my guilty pleasure gosh ^^). Read More
Finally spring is around here everyone, I’m so glad to announce that ^^ Actually winter in Lyon is not that horrible, it was okay even though we had to suffer some crazy windy and cold days, and some snowy, but I just don’t like winter. I don’t like to put on layers of clothes and walk around like a real snowman (no, snowgirl to be exact 😉 ), with my hands in the gloves and my head in a huge wool beanie, sometimes I can’t even see anything around because of it haha My favorite season of the year is autumn, and surely, spring comes next. What’s better than wandering around my beautiful city in a sunny day, with the blue sky, oh, and how I miss the sun-feeling on my skin, it’s been such a long time. So for everyone who loves spring like me, congratulations, we’re now in the best moment to celebrate it !!! Read More
In busy weekdays, me and my housemates, we always love one-pot dishes, or in this case, you can also say one-pan dishes 😉 One of the reason is that we have to bring our lunchboxes to our university, because the schedule is so tight and we don’t even have time to go to the canteen, stand in a super long queue and wait for our lunch 😦 Sometimes I think I will miss a part of university life, you know, like having lunch in a big lounge with all the noises around (in a positive way, of course ^^), discussing about stuff while eating, etc. But yeah, luckily I just have to bring my lunchbox once a week, and
more luckily unfortunately, my friends live 2-3 minutes away from the campus, so in that day I always have lunch all alone, how awful !
One more beef stew for your cookbook, keep warm and stay healthy this winter xoxo

I’m pretty sure that every cook or every person who loves cooking like me always has a favorite recipe for the Old time Beef Stew with Vegetables. Some changes, substitutions, transformations…, maybe our recipes are a little bit different, but in common, we all love this beautiful and flavorful beef stew. Who doesn’t love a windy winter day, sitting around the table, having dinner with family and enjoying a full bowl of hot beef stew with bread or a bed of rice?
